Rock Star Party

Our little Rock star maddie turned 7 last year so what else then have a rockstar party!!Invitations I made by googling images of girl rock stars and found a cute rocker girl. The invitation told everyone to come dressed as rock stars. We started the party off with big craft stars. The kids put their names on it and decorated them with markers and stickers. For decorations We got camp rock paper supplies. I bought the blow up guitars and Microphones at Giantpartystore.com they had a very good prices on both items! We bought the stage from overstock.com it was easy to assemble and came with a microphone and speaker.

We played freeze dance and when they kids were "out" they got to pick a prize from a box.(I do not like sad kids who loose at parties :o( I made 1 box for girls full of clip on earings, neckelaces and rings. I made a boy box with wrist sweat bands and sunglasses. The winner got a pack of "POP ROCKS"

We also played pass the microphone (hot potato) When they were out the got another toy from the box. The winner also got "POP ROCKS"

I got karaoke disney and kidzbop music and let the kids have a talent show.

I made the cupcake cake. I love cupcake cakes b/c the pull apart aspect makes it so easy to serve!!
We had a ROCKIN good time!:0)

Pinkalicious

Madilynn's 6th Birthday was inspired by her Favorite book at the time, and the Pinkest story ever! If you have never read the story or PINKALICIOUS to your daughter you absolutely MUST!! If you have read it this was a super fun and girly party
For invitations I made them on my computer by using graphics found on google images. on them I told everyone to wear pink to the party. Decorations: I made this Pinkalicious peek a boo sign. I was lucky enough to have a tall box and cut out a long side of it. I made a transparent print out of the book cover with my printer. Then I used my church's overhead projector to trace it onto the cardboard which I had already painted pink. I traced everything but the face and just cut that part out! The kids loved this part! Everyone got a turn to be pinkalicious!
We played hot cupcake(hot potato). I don't like kids to cry at parties so when someone was out the got their crown and wand. I bought the paper crowns at party city. I made the wands out of dowel rods, yellow posterboard, light pink and dark pink streamers, hot glue gun and glitter.  I do not have a picture of it but I'll tell how I made them. I cut big stars out of the yellow posterboard. Then I used a gluestick to put the glitter on the star. I cut strips of both pink streamers. I put a big dallop of hot glue on the back of the star, put the dowel rode in the middle of it then stuck on 2 light pink 2 dark pink streamer strips. It looked just like pinkalicious's wand.
Then we went to the table and read the story of Pinkalicious. In the story there is a part where Pinkalicious has to eat all green foods so after the story we ate green food on green plates. Grapes, pickles, lettuce and kiwi's.

Then we decorated cupcakes just like in the book. Everyone got a pink cupcake. I made 6 frosting bags with dark pink and light pink frosting. We also had pink sprinkles and cherries.

I bought a cupcake cake pan but I didn't have much luck with it. It fell apart twice :0( so we ended up with just the top of the cupcake but it was fine since everyone had thier own cupcakes anyway.

We also played a pin the cherry on the cupcake game. I painted the cupcake and cut out red construction paper cherries for the kids to put on! This was a fun and inexpensive party at about $50 dollars but again alot of crafting and prep time!

Fire Truck/ Fire fighter Party

Jonny's 5th Birthday party is one I love to brag about!! The bad part was the day before I fell down my stairs and got a severe ankle sprain :0(  He always says he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up so what better party than a fire truck/ fire fighter party!  I made them, like all my others, by using graphics from google images and cute little message of "sound the alarm Jonny's turning 5". For decorations I found these firefighters hat cutouts at the dollar store and used poster boards to make different kinds of signs. I bought fire dept badges too. Can't remember where from though....
For snacks I go 3 buckets and shovels. I bucket read "Firehose" and was filled with licorice. One read "balls of fire" and had cheeto balls in it. and the other said "Firefighters" We put teddy bear cookies in there.
I made this Fire truck cake minutes before I fell down the stairs.  I was planning on waiting until the kids went to bed to decorate it but all of a sudden I felt like I needed to just get it done so I did and after I got done with it and cleaned the kitchen I fell and could barely walk the rest of the night so I'm so so so so happy I got it done!!!!!! it turned out great and was pretty simple. you can watch a video on you tube that shows you how to do it.

I had a couple games planned 1 was this pin the hat on the Fire dog game that I got at party city. Then I had planned a firefighter obstacle course. They were going to climb up the ladder, slide down the slide and use a water gun to spray down empty waterbottles with paper flames on them out of the windows of our playhouse. then go in the house and rescue the Stuffed dog inside. But since I was hurt we skipped it. but the biggest suprise was yet to come.........

We didn't want to tell anyone that the Fire truck was comming just in case they didn't show up for whatever reason. but a couple weeks before the party I called the Fire dept and asked if they came out for birthday parties and she said yes they would for FREE. The kids thought the party was comming to the end when they heard the sirens comming and getting closer and pulled up in the yard
Jonny's face was priceless!!

He gave everybody a hat and a bag full of activities.

Then he showed us all around the truck and showed the kids some cool things he had inside

It was a AWESOME party! Lots of fun and Wonderful memories and that is what a birthday party is all about!!
